At first I wanted to paint this on my bedroom door, you know that boxy frame thing on doors that always makes me want to put a painting there, well, I decided I didn't want to put that much work in it and then maybe move or something. I also considered buying a poster and then I remembered I am an artist! So I looked up what size it was originally and had my husband cut a board the same size. It was a log time ago, before the internet was a part of my life. So I painted from an image in a book. Mr. Green, who taught fine Art at the high school said it looked much like the original, (since he had seen it) but he said my paint wasn't thick enough. I've enjoyed, even more than this image the chance to learn so much about Vincent. I feel his friendship and can't wait to meet him in the next life and ask him to clear up some questions we all have. First of all, I don't believe for a minute he shot himself.
